Welcome! We're very pleased you are visiting our website.
South Amherst Veterinary Hospital is a full service companion animal hospital. It is our commitment to provide quality veterinary care throughout the life of your pet. Our services and facilities are designed to assist in routine preventive care for young, healthy pets; early detection and treatment of disease as your pet ages; and complete medical and surgical care as necessary during his or her lifetime.
We understand the special role your pet plays in your family and are dedicated to becoming your partner in your pet's health care. We treat your pet as we would our own. Our goal is to practice the highest quality medicine and surgery with compassion and an emphasis on client education. Our entire healthcare team is committed to providing personal attention to the unique concerns of each individual pet owner.
We are located on route 116 in South Amherst, previously the location of Kamel Hassan Furniture Barn. For our Northampton clients and patients, we are less than 15 minutes and one blinking light from the Calvin Coolidge Bridge using Bay Road. We are a short distance from parts of Belchertown, Hadley, and South Hadley.
Dr. Marci Lowy has been practicing veterinary medicine in the Pioneer Valley since 1997. For the last 3 years, she has enjoyed providing animal and people care in Northampton. Dr. Lowy is looking forward to providing thoughtful compassion care on the Belchertown, Amherst, Hadley side of the bridge.
Dr. Lowy does provide some housecall services, visiting Amherst, Northampton, Easthampton, Montague and other communities. Housecall services will continue for clients that find the driving to the hospital location at 660 West Street/route 116 Amherst, Ma is a little too far!
